For almost 20 years, Discovery Treks has been known as an innovative and environmentally responsible company in providing exhilarating lifetime adventures. People from all walks of life join our treks. Adventures are custom-designed for two or more people and solo travelers are welcome on existing treks.

If not a one-day hike, trek nights are lodge or campsite-based.  Treks include pro-quality hiking equipment (trekking poles, backpack or day pack), meals/snacks (fresh food prepared according to your dietary specifications), water replenishment, park fees and ground transportation.  A highly-trained, certified guide accompanies every trek to interpret the area and prepare meals.  Additionally for camping treks, all overnight permits and gear (tent, sleeping bag, camp pillow, therm-a-rest) are also provided and the guide sets/breaks camp.

National Geographic Adventure magazine calls Discovery Treks one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth."  Let us show you why.

As the Grand Canyon is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep, there are many and diverse trails to explore.  This site includes many of the often requested corridor, south, north and west trails.  If you do not find here a trail or area of which you have read or heard, let us know.  We have approximately 60 other treks not listed for longer timeframes, more strenuous exploration, primitive jaunts and winter-specific interests.

"Just thought I would drop you an email to let you know how we liked our hike. It was great. Frank was excellent and knowledgeable and personable. He made the trip  very enjoyable. He took time to do a short hike into a canyon where he knew Nat (10 year old son) would be able to find some calcite crystals when he found out that he likes rocks and crystals, and helped him locate and identify fossils, etc. and generally took pains to make the trip special for us. And when Isabelle looked like she might not be quite up to the hike out, Frank made sure that she was able to get a horse out. We would definitely want to hire him as a guide again in the future."
