Winter and the Grand Canyon

Is a winter trip to Grand Canyon National Park right for you?  Maybe!  Keep in mind the rim top of the Grand Canyon is at a high elevaton and can get cold and definitely snowy.  But as you descend, the temperatures rise and the snow recedes.  The winter light makes for great photography and the snow capped peaks are a beautiful sight to behold.  You also might see lots of the local fauna in daylight hours that often in the heat of summer may only be seen at night.  And of course, the heat does not take its toll.  There is a lot to love about hiking the Grand Canyon in winter.
