Bright Angel/Hermit Loop 5 Day Experience some off the beaten path adventure

Our 5 day all inclusive adventure is a wonderful way to see the highlights of this spectacular area.

The first day is an easy 4.5 miles down the Bright Angel trail to Indian Gardens. This is a lush campground with picnic tables, ramadas, and composting toilets! Hiking seven miles along the flat Tonto Trail to the west brings us to Salt Canyon on the second day. Salt Canyon has spectacularly extreme narrows below the campsite in the Tapeats Sandstone. On the third morning we can scramble to the river at Salt Rapids or have an easy 2.3 mile hike into Monument Creek. We spend the fourth day hiking down to the river (2 miles round trip) and exploring this exceptional (even by canyon standards) area. The last day we hike out on the historic Hermit trail, stopping for lunch at Santa Maria spring.
